Overlooking the pool and Lipa Noi Beach, this is the largest of Siritarar's six bedrooms. Just beyond its own terrace stands the mature Sai (Banyan) tree, carefully preserved at the water's edge.

The room feels open and airy beneath its vaulted ceiling and exposed timber beams. A teak wall anchors the bed, while two tall arched doors open onto the terrace and folding shutters connect to a small walled courtyard, allowing light and fresh air to enter from both sides throughout the day. The arched pair are among the finest of the salvaged doors in the house — two of more than a hundred taken from colonial-era buildings before they were pulled down, chosen one at a time and carried back across the border and down to the island. Some are ninety to a hundred and forty years old. The room holds a hand-carved panel. Reclaimed timber flooring adds warmth underfoot, echoing the craftsmanship found throughout the house.

The bathroom is designed as a quiet retreat of its own, with twin basins and a freestanding bathtub beneath an open skylight, filling the space with natural light, while a separate walk-in shower completes the experience.

Named after the Phut tree, a familiar presence in traditional Thai gardens, this room offers a quieter side of Siritarar.

Surrounded by tropical planting, it is filled with natural light throughout the day. Tall windows and doors open to the gardens, creating a constant connection with the greenery outside. The room holds a hand-carved panel.

The bathroom takes its light from a window of its own. It is enclosed by planting on three sides.

The Kan-Krao is one of Thailand's nine auspicious trees. Eleven of them were standing here before the land was surveyed, and this is Siritarar's highest bedroom, standing among the crowns.

From the balcony, the tiled roofs of the pavilions give way to branches and Lipa Noi Beach beyond. A timber door and windows keep the room connected to the landscape, while the exposed timber roof adds warmth and character overhead.

The bathroom enjoys the same sense of openness, with daylight entering through timber shutters on two sides and views that return to the trees and the sea.

This room is entered through a private courtyard enclosed by hand-fired brick walls. Rather than separating the room from the garden, the bricks are laid with open joints, allowing the sea breeze, shifting daylight and the Sathon tree to filter through while preserving privacy. Beyond the courtyard, a covered veranda extends the living space outdoors, creating the largest private outdoor area of any bedroom at Siritarar.

The Mayom, long regarded in Thai tradition as a symbol of affection and goodwill, stands in front of the room, against a backdrop of hand-fired brick.

Reached by a few steps, the room sits on the raised level beneath a high ceiling. A hand-carved timber panel above the bed reflects the craftsmanship found throughout Siritarar, while a built-in window seat offers a quiet place to read or simply look out to the garden.

The bathroom continues the same warmth, with a single basin set on a teak counter beneath a teak-framed mirror.

Beyond the door, a terrace of dark stone runs along the front of the room and continues to the room beyond. Surrounded by tropical planting, it is worth stepping out to: past the planting, the sea is there.

The Chamuang tree has long been part of Southern Thai cooking, its leaves lending their distinctive flavour to dishes passed down through generations. It is a reminder that the island's landscape has always shaped the food prepared from it.
